Polestar's long range single motor Polestar 2 arrives in the US

Following the release of its dual-motor variant late last year, Polestar announced on Wednesday that the 270-mile long range, single-motor version of its Polestar 2 EV is now available for sale in the US. 

Starting at $45,900 — $33,400 after federal and state incentives — the single-motor Polestar 2 is $4,000 less expensive than its AWD sibling (which starts at $51,200) and provides 16 extra miles of driving range to the all-wheel's 249 miles. Other than the number of e-motors affixed to their axles, the two are functionally identical.

 

“All variants of the Polestar 2 exude the brand’s leadership in cutting-edge technology with the Google infotainment system, premium sustainable materials, and unparalleled avant-garde design," Gregor Hembrough, Head of Polestar North America, said in a press statement. The $4,000 creature comfort "Plus" upgrade and $3,200 "Pilot" sensor and safety package are likewise available with either powertrain setup. 

Folks looking to stick it to their local petrochemical conglomerate can schedule a test drive either through the Polestar 2 configurator site or at one of the company's physical retail locations located in major cities throughout the US.

The update will be available first for Instagram, which has faced a wave of scrutiny for its impact on teens and children, with new parental controls coming to Quest headsets over the next few months.     On Instagram, the controls will be part of a new “Family Center,” where parents can set time limits and access information about their teen’s activity on the app. For now, parents will be able to see a list of accounts their teen is following, as well as which accounts follow them. Parents will also be notified if their teen reports another user. Ayaneo's Kun gaming handheld is an exercise in decadence

This gaming handheld is also my new favorite laptop. Thirteen. That’s the number of different handheld gaming PCs that Ayaneo shows on its homepage as of this writing. Fourteen if you count the preview for one in the carousel. Each device comes in a choice of colors with different storage and RAM configurations. Ayaneo has a lot of SKUs. Only five months ago I reviewed the  Air Plus  and it’s already been discounted to make way for  the next version . The current tippy-top of all these handhelds is the  Ayaneo Kun  and it is, currently, one of a kind. The Kun is the highest-spec machine the company has ever made, and after using it for a couple of weeks I can say it’s both a fantastic gaming handheld and (if you want) a decent portable general-use PC.
